Girls Trip premiered with rave reviews delivering a massive total of $30.4 million during its opening weekend, making it the largest opening weekend performance of any live-action comedy in 2017 so far.
According to Box Office Mojo, the movie-tracking website found it was a racially diverse crowd: 59 percent of the audience was black, 19 percent was white, 17 percent was Hispanic and 3 percent was Asian.
The film, directed by Malcolm D. Lee’s was produced on a $20 million dollar budget.

The film also scored an “A” on CinemaScore and an 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
