Catch Your Own Fish For Dinner At Zauo in NYC

Zauo-3

There’s a new Japanese restaurant coming to New York City where diners get the freshest fish possible. Meaning you are literally handed a fishing rod to catch your own meal before it is prepared by the restaurant.

For those who enjoy restaurants like Korean BBQ’s, hot pots and fondue that allow you to be the Chef, is on a whole new level.

The first two levels of the Japanese hotspot is where diners purchase bait and toss a line into a tank stocked with about 10 different types of fish. Once your prey has been captured, diners hand their fish off to staff who will prepare it to their liking, including grilled, deep-friend or turned into sushi.

Catching your own fish is cheaper than ordering one off the menu; however, pricing will vary based on the type of fish you catch and preparation, so be sure to choose wisely.

The new restaurant is looking to open in Chelsea at a space at 152 W. 24th Street. No word on the opening date. Check out a video of the experience from the original location in Tokyo.
